Description: My Dublin based financial client currently requires a hands-on Application Support Analyst to be responsible for providing second level support.

Responsibilities:

 Provide 2nd line support to the business. Weekend Support is required and is scheduled on a rotational basis.
 Provide mission critical response to daily issues through in-depth investigation and problem solving techniques.
 Issue management, liaising with the required development and 3rd level support teams globally.
 Effectively communicate and escalate issues between the business and team members in order to ensure proper handling of issues is provided.
 Incorporate personal knowledge in the development of support tools and efficiencies that will be used by the team for daily or specific events.
 Liaison between development and business teams to improve the quality of the system and its applications.
 Ensure that my client’s applications are available and supported in line with the defined system service level agreement.
 Execute and escalate problem management procedure as necessary.
 Record and document accurately and in a timely manner support activities, which should include support tasks and outages. This information will be used to assist in identifying areas for investing in improvement initiatives.
 Provide in depth analysis of queries raised by the business, ranging from disbursement issues through to detailed analysis of reporting issues.
 Identify reoccurring issues and resolve accordingly.
 Support stability initiatives and work to achieve corporate and Global Production Support goals.

Knowledge/Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of Application Support/Development experience, of which a minimum of 3-4 years are in Support

Skills:
• UNIX - commands and Shell/Perl scripting knowledge (Essential)
• Oracle database and MS SQL Server knowledge including SQL, PL/SQL (Essential)
• WebLogic (Essential)
• IBM MQ Series (Essential)
• Ability to look at and understand XML file formats (Essential)
• .Net (Desirable)

Qualifications:
• Degree level in an IT oriented subject is advantageous.

Competencies:
• Candidate must be reliable, consistent, self-starter, to work with minimum supervision
• The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), in order to build the relationship with, and the confidence of, business users and technology teams at various levels in a global environment.
• Given that the system supports time critical user needs, the candidate must be able to operate under time pressure
• Good Time management and analytical skills are required.
• Good planning is important in the role

Requirements of the Job:
• Monitoring & Administration of Unix and Oracle environments and escalation and resolution of issues.
• Provide Unix & Oracle support for projects as required
• Act as an escalation point for customers

Technical Knowledge:
• Oracle 11g & 10g DBA Admin Skills/Experience.
• HP & Solaris Unix Admin Skills.
• Experience of Management of SAN(EMC) attached to HP & Solaris Unix Systems.
• Red Hat Linux experience an advantage.
• IT Diploma College Certification or equivalent

• Disaster Recovery using SRDF replication
• General monitoring for performance & availability
• File system management for EMC Celerra
• Management of backup infrastructure

Technical expertise Required:
• Experienced in SAN Management. EMC Experience a necessity.
• Windows, VM-Ware, Unix, Red Hat Linux
• Experience in enterprise backup solution an advantage.
• IT Diploma College Certification or equivalent.

My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Network Security Engineer to join their existing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be joining a dynamic and dedicated team of engineers.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Architecture, deployment, and support of enterprise network security and engineering systems including IDS/IPS, NetFlow, and 2FA security procedures.
• Led or have been heavily engaged in projects developing large-scale network monitoring, automation, and tools deployment.
• Advocate and execute proper change management principles to ensure network availability and reliability for over 35,000 active users worldwide user.
• Leverage, interpret, and rely on packet and flow analysis tools to drive troubleshooting, visibility, and root cause analysis of anomalies.
• Lead efforts in DDoS management and mitigation
• Effectively communicate to senior org management, and mentor other engineers and teams.
• On-call shift rotation for week-long coverage approximately once every 2 months.
• Leverage of good knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, Unix/Linux/FreeBSD
• Leverage deep experience with a variety of enterprise Networking, Network Security, and datacenter traffic management devices
• Using familiarity with workflow ticketing systems (such as Remedy) is a plus
• Meeting needs for infrequent travel may be necessary
• Utilizing networking or Network Security certifications not required, but could be a plus
Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree
