The successful candidates MUST have experience using VB.Net
Perm Role based in South Dublin - Salary Negotiable

Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with Development Team to develop new functionality for my client software products
- Work with Development Team on existing functionality to help maintain & expand their products

- Develop using VB.Net, ASP.Net, Visual Basic 6.0 and ASP

- Work with SQL Server and Oracle Databases

- Work with Report Designers such as Crystal Reports & Business Objects

The successful candidate will be working within a team responsible for designing and developing processes for our enterprise level financial software.

The software is an n-tier system that uses COM, ADO, XML, COM+ and SQL frameworks and ADO.Net, a framework based on managed .Net technology All Windows clients are Web-Service enabled.


Skills / Experience:

 Excellent command of the Visual Basic language and development environment. VB6 experience is a core skill for this position.
 Programming languages; SQL, ADO, COM, C#, ASP, ASP.net, HTML
 3+ years experience within a commercial environment.
 Ability to work as park of a team or independently

Description: VB6 and SQL Developer

The Development role encompasses both project and small enhancement work in all areas of my clients systems.

The role requires a very good understanding of SQL and VB6.

The Developer would be responsible for Design, Coding and testing complex components of software.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gain familiarity within the key areas of core systems and their relationships to the other system areas.
• Design and Development of software components.
• Test system components to quality and time constraints
• Perform code walkthroughs of other team members’ code
• Perform system testing in conjunction with other members of the team
• Complete test documentation and implementation documentation as appropriate
• Comply with and adhere to the documented quality standards and methods for the development of applications
• Support implementation and provide post implementation support
• Understands and applies the Software Development Life Cycle
• Liaise with relevant user Departments with regards to requirements and Test Results.
• Support business continuity activities as required by

Essential Experience / Skills
• Computer Science Degree. (Exceptions may be made where relevant experience compensates and in-depth experience demonstrated)

• Experienced with SQL database programming (eg Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle)
(eg 3+ years within software development environment)
• Experience of developing in Visual Basic 6

Description: Junior - Mid Level VB.Net Developer wanted

Permanent Role based in Dublin City Centre

Salary circa 36-38k D.O.E. may vary


Job Purpose
Developer of various Bespoke Software Development Projects for our client base


New Development - This area of responsibility will involve the development of
functional modules or programs as detailed via program specifications and passed to
the software engineer by the Project Manager or Team Lead. These will generally be
developed using VB and VB.Net technologies in conjunction with our standard development
methodology and tools.


Qualifications & Experience
Must have any recognised 3rd Level Qualification in Computing / Computer Programming.

Role Specific Skills & Knowledge
• At least 2 years industry experience in VB.Net (2005 and/or 2010) development. Any
experience in VB6 would be advantageous and a willingness to cross train to
Java\Web development is desired.
• Experience working with Databases preferably Oracle or SQL Server including stored
procedures.
• Industry experience in reporting solutions such as Crystal Reports
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Experience working in a Windows environment required and experience working in a
Unix\Linux environment would be advantageous.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
• Must be willing to work within a busy software development team, producing high
quality software to a demanding schedule.
• Must be available to assist in the implementation of systems in the client sites and
be able to liaise effectively with clients when requirements gathering work is
required.
