Network Infrastructure Manager


We are only looking for an innovative and highly motivated individual with strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail and enthusiasm to work within our technical support team. This is a large corporate company and this is based in their Head Office in Dublin West. They are looking for a hands on Network Infrastructure Manager who has excellent vendor Relationship skills and client relationship skills. There will be 3-5 people in your team and the role will report into the CIO.

Environment Managing:
o 2008/2012 Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory,SQL Server 2012.
o All 3rd party vendor relationships.
o Network troubleshooting & diagnosis of our Lan and Wan network infrastructure.
o Installation & configuration of hardware, operating systems and other software products.
o Installation & configuration of supported applications.
o Supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots IT hardware, software and network problems.
o Security of the Network (Symantec).

Experience:

Minimum skills required:
o Exceptional understanding of MPLS network and seamless failover techniques.
o Understanding and experience of Cloud computing – Azure and AWS.
o Experience in PCI compliance and network security.
o Understanding and experience in managing VM environments.
o Willingness to work with managed Services partners for core Network and Infrastructure.
o Microsoft Windows Server 2003 / 2008
o Microsoft Windows XP
o Microsoft Office Suite
o Microsoft Exchange
o Microsoft Active Directory
o SQL Server

Desirable Skills:
o Virtualisation
o SQL Server SSIS and Reporting Services

• System upgrades such as firmware, OS, application, and security patch evaluation using WSUS, scripting, and other manual processes
• Installation and administration of VMware ESXi 5.x environments within local and shared storage
• Automated server deployments, vMotion, Storage vMotion, Update Manager, DRS, HA, VMware Conversion tools, SRM, VMware CLI and scripting
• Administer and/or troubleshoot related environments such as WINS, file shares, folder permissions, user account maintenance as well as server performance tuning
• Daily interaction with colleagues from Implementation and Support teams along with project managers

Successful candidate must :
• Have the ability to deliver projects/issues solo to their completion in the time frame allotted as well as collaborate within a team environment.
• Have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio)
• Have familiarity with writing procedures and maintaining process documentation
• Be friendly, confident, self-starter, and have the ability to communicate with all levels of IT personnel from staff to upper management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in team environment but can self-direct where necessary
• Friendly and outgoing with willingness to assist fellow team-members
• This position has frequent contact with end users, help-desk peers, vendors, remote IT staff and managers.

Requirements:
• 5+ years of team leading in a software development role, preferably with a systems engineering focus
• At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering
• Experience in virtualization technologies including ESXi, KVM, XEN is required
• Experience in Linux and telecom protocols is required
• Experience of full product life cycle development
• Experience in an Agile environment is an advantage
• Must be a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills (both written and verbal), highly professional and able to communicate directly with the engineers as well as product management and project management
• Must be highly motivated, self-driven with a focus on quality, teamwork, planning and innovation
• Must be educated to a degree level in computer science/engineering or have equivalent experience

• Administer MS Exchange and email archiving.
• Administer and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Configure network equipment including switches & routers.
• Administer network security including Cisco ASA, IronPort web and email filtering, and Symantec Endpoint Protection.
• Provide Second Level technical support to our users.
• Provide out-of-hours and on-call support on a rotating basis.
• Audit network infrastructure and software and update Asset Management databases.
• Create, manage and drive IT infrastructural projects.
• Implement and test the company Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Liaise with external support and vendors’ Account Managers.

Requirements:
• Relevant experience in a similar role ideally within retail, distribution or wholesale industries.
• Fully proficient in MS Active Directory 2008 and MS Exchange 2010 (or later).
• Proven track record in installation, configuration, maintenance and recovery at all levels of Active Directory, DFS and Exchange 2010.
• Excellent knowledge of hardware including servers, storage and network equipment.
• Administration of Cisco ASA and VPN.
• Previous experience managing a VMware environment.
• Excellent TCP/IP network and routing protocol skills.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience of operating in a high-availability multi-site environment.
• Educated to degree level in an IT or Business related discipline, or diploma in an IT or business related discipline with relevant IT experience. Also with a MCSE or MCITP and a VMware certified professional.
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
• A strong communicator with the ability to effectively convey information verbally and in writing.
• Excellent project management skills with ability to work well on a number of different tasks, sometimes with conflicting deadlines.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

• Work with Engineering to flesh out requirements into usable features
• Provide both commercial and technical assessment (Sales: - Business Case and Business Impact Analysis. Engineering: Feasibility, Product Requirements Documents, Functional Specification signoff) of features.
• Provide material to field to educate and support adoption and familiarity of new features
• Stay abreast of relevant industry trends and activity


Required Skills
• Excellent Written and communications skills
• Ability to take customer requests to new product features
• Ability to collate and present technical and business case material to key decision makers internally and externally
• Detailed Networking Experience – TCP/IP - Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers etc.
• Knowledge of 3G/4G Mobile Core – EPC interfaces and components
• 1+ yrs in a technical customer facing or product management role
• Telecoms experience (working with or selling to Telco customers and NEMs)
• Experience and exposure to virtualization technologies

• Exposure to collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence, Salesforce etc.
