Overview:
My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Windows Systems Administrator to join their existing team.

Responsibilities
• Design, configuration, support and maintenance of Windows infrastructure
• Setup, configuration, and maintenance of various aspects of the Windows environment, including but not limited to hardware and software management, security patches and health check monitoring
• Installation and configuration of Servers and the maintenance and upgrading of same. Large HP Blade Environment.
• Responsibility for the research, product comparison and recommendation of new hardware and software in line with the technology plans of their European sites.
• Working as part of the Systems Support team to ensure that products work correctly when installed and help with any installation problems they may have
• Will be responsible for smooth running of Active Directory, Exchange and Virtual Environment with possible upgrades
• Responsible for several Windows Clusters (Exchange, SQL Server)
• Supporting Data Centres
• Interaction with Windows support teams globally in their other offices
• Interaction with Network and UNIX Support teams

Skills & Experience
• 3rd Level Qualification in IT
• 3-4 years relevant work exp.
• High level of Windows software and hardware knowledge
• High level of VMware experience desirable
• Network Appliance experience an advantage
• Exchange 2010 experience an advantage.
• Quality mindset and striving to resolve issues
• Client focused
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure

Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree

Key Responsibilities

• Day to day support of the ICT Infrastructure and Financial Applications
• Responsible for compliance with Group standards for all applications and Infrastructure
• Proactively identify and propose infrastructure improvements
• Develop and maintain knowledge base for support of ICT Infrastructure
• Developing and maintaining procedures for security of the Infrastructure and applications
• Development of business reports for Financial Applications
• Liaise with Group IS and third party vendors to ensure appropriate service levels
• Logging of Incidents in the ICT Helpdesk System
• Develop, manage and implement project plans

Skills Requirements

The candidate is expected to be proficient in a number of technologies commonly used in the
enterprise environment including:

• Microsoft Windows XP/7 and Office 2003/2010
• Microsoft Server 2k3/2k8 technologies e.g. Active Directory, DNS/DHCP/WINS Management
• Group policy and server management
• Microsoft SQL server and database management 2005/2008
• VMware vSphere Platform
• Dell End user devices, Server and SAN technologies
• Configuring and Maintaining Switch/Wireless networking (including VLANs)
• Backup and Recovery Tools (Symantec/Veeam/Ultrabac)
• TCP/IP and related protocols

Key Requirement

•A diploma/degree in Computer Information Technology or similar
•At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role
•Have excellent knowledge of a Microsoft network
•Some knowledge of business system support and maintenance
•Linux/Cisco/SOX compliance are all an advantage
•The person needs to be able to work alone and as part of a team depending on projects

Salary : Circa 44-48k D.O.E.

My client is seeking to recruit an experienced SAN Technical Team Leader
The successful applicant will manage a small team of 4 with responsibility for the operations of the data centres, SAN, servers, VMware, Windows OS and backups.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the latest server and storage technologies;

Responsibilities include:
• Manage day-to-day systems administration tasks
• Meet operational objectives for availability, performance and security
• Act as technical lead for assigned technologies
• Resolve support issues in line with agreed SLAs
• Develop metrics and KPIs to track and report team performance
• Oversee Change Management process
• Manage imaging, patching, and vulnerability management processes
• Maintain inventory and configuration management systems
• Manage primary and regional Data Centres

• Five plus years relevant post qualification experience
• Must have people management experience

Description: My Dublin City Centre based client currently requires an experienced Windows Engineer with a strong Windows Server background for a permanent role on their expanding team.

Windows Engineer
This is a highly technical role focussing on the delivery technical projects covering a spectrum of server and infrastructure technologies with strong focus on Microsoft server technologies. The candidate must have excellent working knowledge and technical experience in the following
• Windows Server Technologies
- Windows 2003/2008 R2
- Windows Clustering
- Windows Virtualisation Technologies
- Windows Monitoring and Management Technologies – System Centre, MOM
- Active Directory and Domain Policy Management

• Desirable to have some experience in Networking/Security/Load Balancing Technologies, specifically
- Cisco ASA, Cisco IOS, Checkpoint NG, F5 BIG IP

You should have the following experience
• Minimum of 5 years hands on experience these technologies and delivering infrastructure projects.
• MCSE, MCSA, MCSD or similar certifications
• Excellent communication skills
• Planning and organizing skills
• Analysis and problem solving skills
