Key Responsibilities & Duties Include:

Provide high grade Technical support for Production, Test and Development environments
Identify, evaluate and implement technical opportunities to move the business forward
Analyse performance of the current service and propose and recommend the incremental upgrade of current systems
Interpret business requirements from a wider perspective and recommend/propose the most appropriate technical solutions in line with industry advances
Be responsible for technical areas of IT Vendor Management processes
Participate in quality and technical reviews
Plan and manage time effectively with respect to assigned responsibilities
Design, configure , support and maintain infrastructure
Research, product comparison and recommendation of hardware and software to support ongoing business requirements and future developments

Essential Criteria:
• IT Degree or equivalent with 5 + years’ experience
• AWS Cloud (EC2, VPC, RDS, Autoscaling, Load Balancing, High Availability, Storage/CDN), JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, Ruby, Oracle
• UNIX / Linux system support and administration
• Scripting - Shell, Perl , Ruby , etc

The Wintel Analyst is responsible for providing quality IT support with a high degree of customer service and technical expertise.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a similar sized financial organization and solid experience of the Windows operating systems, Citrix, VMware ESX and vSphere with specific knowledge of:

• Windows 2000/2003/2008/2012 Server administration
• Citrix Administration
• VMware ESX / ESXi 4.x, 5.x environments within local and shared storage
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, WINs, DNS, Routing, VPN, LAN/WAN
• Knowledge of hardware and software configuration
• Firm understanding of MS Office suite

Duties will include:
• Installation, clustering and administration of Windows 2003 and 2008 Servers to company standards using industry tools and best practices.
• Familiarity with HP Insight Manager
• Installation, administration and troubleshoot issue of Citrix 4.5, XenApp6 and 6.5
• System upgrades such as firmware, OS, application, and security patch evaluation using WSUS, scripting, and other manual processes
• Installation and administration of VMware ESX / ESXi 4.x, 5.x environments within local and shared storage
• Automated server deployments, vMotion, Storage vMotion, Update Manager, DRS, HA, VMware Conversion tools, VMware CLI and scripting
• Administer and/or troubleshoot related environments such as WINS, file shares, folder permissions, user account maintenance as well as server performance tuning
• Daily interaction with colleagues from Implementation and Support teams along with project managers

Previous Work Experience:

• Strong, current, hands-on experience (5 years + in a similar sized financial company ) in the following areas:
• Analysis, design, implementation, troubleshooting and administration of enterprise Citrix environments
• Analysis, design, implementation, troubleshooting and administration of enterprise VMware environments
• Analysis, design, implementation, troubleshooting and administration, of enterprise Microsoft environments
• Complex, large-scale implementations and product rollouts

Specific Knowledge / Skills:
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills including oral and written English
• Must possess solid working experience with the following applications :
• MCSE certification HIGHLY desirable;
• Windows 2000/2003/2008/2012 Server administration
• Citrix Administration
• Process Documentation
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, WINs, DNS, Routing, VPN, LAN/WAN
• Knowledge of hardware and software configuration
• Firm understanding of MS Office suite
• Network planning experience;
• VMware ESX / ESXi 4.x, 5.x environments within local and shared storage
• Distributed Switches and standard networking as it relates to VMware.
• Automated server deployments, vMotion, Storage vMotion, Update Manager, DRS, HA, VMware Conversion tools, VMware CLI and scripting
• An understanding of Capacity Management
• VMware VCP/VCAP certification highly desirable.

Salary for this role will be €45-50k plus excellent benefits package.

Description: My Dublin based client currently requires a Systems Administrator to work as part of their team to support my client’s portfolio of networks including proactive network management, automated provisioning system, managed Internet access, web hosting, blogs, directory services, content filtering and associated security services.

Duties:
The successful candidate will undertake the following:
• Administration of Linux servers, virtual machines, provisioning systems;
• Provide server management and network support for internal and external customers;
• Proactively ensure networks, server and environmental infrastructure are available and secure;
• RADIUS & LDAP administration and configuration;
• Administration of DNS, SQL databases and web-hosting systems;
• Troubleshoot and evaluate provider connectivity issues.

Experience:

Essential:
• Minimum of three (3) years industry experience, at least two (2) of which working in a similar role;
• Experience in supporting Internet, E-mail and Web technologies;
• Proven expertise implementing Internet services.

Desirable:
• Experience working with an ISP, providing network and server management support for internal and external customers.

Skills & Aptitudes:

Essential:
• Excellent knowledge of Operating System software and its administration;
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP networking;
• Ability to logically troubleshoot and evaluate server and network connectivity issues.

Desirable:
• Excellent knowledge and experience of UNIX/Linux OS (preferably Ubuntu);
• High Proficiency in scripting (e.g. Shell, Perl, PHP, Python, etc.);
• Good understanding of Internet protocols and infrastructure (Apache, DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP etc.);
• Experience with directory services (e.g. OpenLDAP);
• Experience of Web Single-Sign-On or web authentication systems;
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL);
• Experience with system and network monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios, SmokePing, Cacti, Netflow);
• Experience with network equipment, network monitoring systems and trouble ticketing systems;
• Experience at proactively ensuring networks, server and environmental infrastructure are available and secure;
• Experience with ISP provisioning systems and version control systems e.g. Subversion;
• Experience with automated configuration management systems (e.g. Puppet, Chef etc.);
• Good knowledge of network equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot network problems;
• Knowledge of routing and switching technologies (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VRRP).
