I. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Assurance Performance Engineer will support testing activities for projects covering application changes across a number of products and platforms. Responsibilities will include assisting with test design, and performing test execution for designated projects, together with support for our continuous process improvement activities and liaising with business colleagues, technical architects, analysts, vendors, and development teams in a fast moving, global working environment. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS:
This position reports to the Global QA Associate Director and is a key position within the Quality Assurance Management Team.

III. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Ability and expertise to identify performance issues within J2EE architecture Load Balancers, Weblogic, Database (Oracle), Operating System (Windows, UNIX), Network, Software (JAVA) and Hardware.
• Hands-on experience in building enterprise level performance test suites.
• Excellent ability to partner with Architects, Developers, Systems Engineers and Database Administrators to collaboratively tune systems.
• Thorough understanding and hands on experience with performance testing tools such as HP Performance Center (LoadRunner) including open source tools.
• Expert ability to dissect large amounts of data and identify potential issues across releases.
• Excellent skills in summarizing large amount of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.
• Strong knowledge of Web Service, XML technologies (SOAP, WSDL, XML).
• Experience with Oracle SQL.
• Solid programming skills in JAVA and SQL.
• Extensive JAVA and SQL performance tuning experience (e.g. garbage collection, heap management, JVM Configuration, query optimization etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and constant communication to senior management/ stakeholders.

IV. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• This position requires excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
• 4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or relational functional field and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
• 6+ years of performance engineering experience; developing software benchmarks, benchmark testing, performance analysis and tuning, performance testing and programming experience ( Java EE, Web Services Technologies, SOAP and/or REST)
• Strong experience with application servers (WebSphere, WebLogic) and database technologies (Oracle and SQL Server)
• Strong experience in UI/Web 2.0 Development (JavaScript, Ajax, Adobe Flash/Flex, Dojo)
• Strong knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems
• Strong experience with the full software development lifecycle and software development methodologies (Agile)

I. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Middleware Administrator is responsible for deplying and supporting middleware applications using IBM WebSphere MQ and IBM’s middleware / transformation products. The ideal candidate will have seven or more years of experience with middleware administration in a financial services organization supporting custody and/or trading applications.

II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS:
This position reports to the Manager of WebSphere Administration.

III. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Deploy, Administer, Support and maintain middleware applications to enable communication between financial applications on diverse platforms with varying interfaces.
• Responsible for the installation, maintenance and configuration of IBM WebSphere MQSeries , Websphere Message Broker, WebSphere Application Server, IBM Enterprise Content Manaager and Tomcat.
• Assess and identify appropriate changes and make recommendations for implementation.
• Perform MQ/WMB/WAS/ECM etc system administration,troubleshooting, monitoring, problem resolution, system security and change implementation.
• Work individually or in a team on various system projects related to UNIX, Linux, Windows and Application support.
• Plan, prepare and apply maintenance fixes and upgrades to Webshere software.
• Assist application support team with high level problem program debugging through heap and thread dump analysis.
• Provide system support including off shift on call support as and when required. Increase staff skill levels by cross training.

IV. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• 6+ years IBM WebSphere Message Broker, Message Queing, Application Server, Enterprise Content Manager and Tomcat
• 5+ years experience of the full software development lifecycle.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Java and JMS a plus.
• Should have strong UNIX/Linux operating system administration experience,.
• Certification / Training in WebShere Suite.
• Experience with installation, configuration and administration of WebSphere Application Message Broker and Application Servermandatory.
• Experience creating configuration manager, toolkit., Brokers, Queue Managers, define Objects channels, SSL, Clustering, shared channels, shared objects.
• Able to setup security for WebShere MQ queues and other objects for data access and for administration using role based security.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Must have quality team building skills, positive attitude, detail oriented, self motivated and strong project management skills.

The IT Manager has the following responsibilities

• Critical Business Functions:
o Runs the exam adjudication, reporting and publication process on behalf of the business.
o Manages the annual Membership Direct Debits integration to the SAP System.
o Manages the annual terminations process on the CRM system.
• Supplier management:
o Management of hardware maintenance, software maintenance, hosting and infrastructure suppliers.
o Manage down supplier costs and get best value for purchases made.
o Manage suppliers on an ongoing basis to ensure they deliver a high quality of service or provide feedback where necessary.
• Project Management:
o Manage the IT Programme so that all IT requests are planned and so that there is a consistent flow of work through IT.
o Manage requests for change in order to minimise disruption to the business and so that focus is kept on the agreed priorities.
o Develop Project Management policies and procedures.
o Manages all non-development projects to an agreed business methodology.
• Business Support:
o Provide input in non-technical areas of the business as requested.
• Administration:
o Develops budgets and manages spend according to business requirements.
Manages an IT risk register and makes that available where requested.

The IT Manager will possess both strong soft and hard skills. Amongst the soft skills are communications, attention to detail, people management and influencing skills. Also, the ability to negotiate outcomes where necessary.
The IT Manager has a strong understanding of the educational environment, the operation of a Professional Body and the operation of ATI’s exam function. The IT Manager needs to be highly commercial, process orientated, resilient and able to manage many priorities.
The IT Manager also possesses strong operational skills including the following:
o Detailed understanding of hardware, networking, telecommunications, operating systems, DBMS, “the cloud” and development languages.
o Detailed understanding of project management, problem definition, troubleshooting and development methodologies.
o Detailed understanding of the online systems mix and design of an appropriate architecture.
o Detailed understanding of electronic security in the online environment and development for the internet.
o Ability to develop and maintain strong documentation and technology processes.
Ability to develop a budget, negotiate with Finance Committee, monitor and manage spends for the IT Department.

• Work with development teams in the implementation of processes which result in a highly simple, extendable and scalable architecture
• Help drive the development of future state architecture and the strategic plan for supporting both transactional and information systems.
• Work with third parties to integrate systems or components into the company’s products
• Research and assess emerging technologies and recommend technologies that can simplify development, reduce effort, or solve problems that are creating defects in current systems

Essential Qualifications:

• Experience with common patterns in distributed systems (e.g. REST, SOA, SaaS, web applications)
• Strong Experience in the .Net framework (WCF, ASMX, MVC, Web API, Windows Services, WebForms etc.)
• Experience in debugging and tuning web services at the transport layer
• Experience of distributed caching and related open source tools.
• Experience with RPC request/response, asynchronous communication, and message based communication (RabbitMQ, Broker/Bus).
• Experience of multi-threading and performance tuning of code.
• Experience in OO JavaScript and JSON with an emphasis on Ajax development and use of JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, jQuery UI, Highcharts or other leading industry frameworks).
• Experience writing C# unit tests and conducting load testing.
• Experience of dependency injection and inversion of control
• Experience with SQL Server.
• Strong leadership skills including resource management and project estimation.
• Ability to analyse and understand complex problems.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, pro-active, and able to plan.
• Excellent, proven written and verbal communication skills required.
