Description: Webmethods B2B Developer - Systems Integration
SUMMARY
Provides technical guidance to a group of professionals engaged in planning, implementing, and executing business-specific technology plans and projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have strong analytical and design skills, be self-motivated in order to work independently. Must have solid background in Systems Integration. Strong knowledge of XML, EDI Standards, RosettaNet Standards, flat files and SQL is desired. Experience with webMethods Integration Server, Java and Oracle is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is for a resource with a good B2B Systems Integration foundation that will be expected to perform the following functions:
Gather requirements, design, or assist with designing of system integration projects.
Develop and document Technical Specifications and Test Plans.
Develop and test programs to interface with external systems.
Participate in roll out and on-time delivery of projects.
Participate in on-going support of current Production Integrations.
Develop and document Corp. Standards, Processes and Procedures.
Provide technical advice, code reviews and assistance to other developers.
Trading Networks familiarity would be beneficial but not a requirement.
Functions described above.
Participate in Monitoring server\gateway uptime.
Document failures and the corrective actions taken.
Set and monitor security standards.
Make recommendations for long-term solutions.
Maintain and develop documentation for responsible area.
Maintain a thorough knowledge and in-depth field experience regarding emerging or job technologies required to fulfill the job, this could include formal or self paced professional development
Prepare project plans and schedules.
Provide status updates of assigned projects.
Recommend/conduct training.
Maintain positive relations with all employees encouraging them to suggest ways of improving IT systems.
Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting issues.
Maintain a good working relationship with customers and vendors.
Ensure 100% adherence to all IT and department policy, processes and procedures.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the department.
Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
Ask questions; encourage input from team members.
Provide regular updates to appropriate managers.
Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification
of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value added processes, or complete re-
engineering of processes and systems).
Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are “best in field”.
Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet and exceed expectations by solving
problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
Confer with reporting manager on complex or unusual situations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems required; and 3 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
