Description: Senior Systems Administrator/ Systems Manager
Based near Naas/ Kildare. The role off our Systems Administrator will be the key IT employee member for our IT department. As such he/she will have a broad set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
• the delivery of the ICT related services (current and future) required by the ‘business’
• the technical management of our IT infrastructure
• day-to-day ICT operations and support
• the delivery of ICT services in accordance with agreed service levels or service targets
• lead or participate in the planning, management and delivery of ICT related projects
Specific Responsibilities of the post
• undertake day-to-day operational and administrative activities to the required standard
o performing backups and restores
o applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
o adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
o maintaining network and data security
o troubleshooting any reported problems
o escalate problems and issues to suppliers as necessary
o ensuring that the network infrastructure is up and running
o monitoring of logs
o monitor of IT service levels
o answering technical queries and assisting users
• work with suppliers to identify and resolve any operational issues affecting IT service delivery, e.g. performance, capacity, availability
• develop and maintain IT related policies, procedures and configuration documentation
• install, configure and test new hardware and software
• supplier and contract management - ensure that third party suppliers provide a quality service that meets business needs and gives value for money
• conduct regular reviews of our IT infrastructure and services, pro-actively seeking to pre-empt problems and identify opportunities for improvement
• ensure that IT risks are identified, assessed, and effectively managed
• provide advice and guidance on IT matters to senior management
• conduct disaster recovery planning and testing
• undertake such other tasks as may be required in order to maintain the operation and availability of information systems and IT services
Requirements
The IT Systems Administrator must possess excellent technical skills, be able to work well under pressure and solve problems quickly. They will need to a pro-active self-starter – able to work well independently - accurate and detail orientated, with a strong analytical focus. An interest and drive towards continuous self-education and up-skilling on new technologies and products is vital. He/she will be dealing with users and suppliers at all levels, so good interpersonal and communication skills are very important.
The Systems Administrator will report to the Finance Director and will need to establish good working relationships with the Managing Director, and other directors, managers and staff. Relationships with key suppliers will also be very important.
The successful candidate will have:
• a third level qualification at a higher level, preferably in an IT related field
• at least seven years’ of relevant working experience in IT system administration, service management, and operations
The ideal candidate will also have:
• a recognised IT service management/operations certification (e.g. ITIL) at an intermediate or advanced level
• hold technical certifications relevant to our IT environment
• have a recognised Project Management certification
Competencies
The competencies required for the post include the skills and experience needed to:
• have an excellent understanding of software, hardware, networking, and communication technologies and their uses
• apply effectively best practice concepts and techniques for managing information technology
• have a strong grasp of IT security
• effectively manage suppliers and contracts
• develop and implement efficient and effective processes and procedures
• make effective use of Microsoft Office
• maintain accurate and clear records

Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
• Involvement with server ‘business as usual’ admin tasks, respond to and solve IT Helpdesk calls.
• Work on projects including new application roll outs and system upgrades
• Application support and data management, including data backups.
• Working to continually improve the server environment security, performance and reliability.
• Performance monitoring and alerting of all Intel servers using appropriate tools
• Documentation of server builds, including tested disaster recovery procedures
Technical Skills:
Experience in at least three of the following areas is required:
Microsoft Windows Server, including:
- Windows 2003, 2008, & 2008 R2
- Windows Server Clustered environments
- Powershell
- Active Directory Configuration & Maintenance
- Citrix XenApp Administration
- VMware vSphere 5.0
Experience in some of the following areas would be beneficial:
- Microsoft Sharepoint Administration

Person Specification:
- 5 years experience working in an Window server environment
- Team player with proactive approach
- Role requires a trustworthy and hard working individual, able to work on own initiative

- Candidate must hold full, clean driving license as they have a few sites in Ireland and some travel will be required but its not extensive

Overview:

The Lead Infrastructure Analyst role will build and maintain a thorough technical knowledge regarding all the technical solutions and services that underpin our company technical environment. A key function of this role is relationship management and work collaboratively with our current IT Service Management Provider and to act as the main point of contact for the Project Team and the Service Management Provider. The IT Technical Lead works with our Service Management Provider to ensure infrastructure elements of changes and projects in the Project Portfolio are contract compliant, delivered on-time and within budget, are aligned with Business Application requirements and meet acceptance criteria


Key Duties / Responsibilities:

• Building and maintaining a thorough technical knowledge of all the technical solutions and services that underpin business functions, in particular the detail of the alignment between the Services and the business applications and systems that they support;
• Collaboratively supporting the development and maintenance of a Strategic Technology Roadmap for over the term of the Agreement;
• Ensuring that the client engage appropriately in Problem Management activity, and that actions identified to resolve Problems are assessed and appropriately agreed or rejected depending on business value and costs;
• Responsibility for providing a consistent level of quality IT service to the all staff members within the team.

• Review projects to ensure it contains sufficient functional and non-functional (volumetric and performance) requirements.

• Commercial compliance - Ensure the detailed deliverables are explicit. Be prepared to reject the document if they are not.

• Typically requires seven or more years of technical and general Financial Services industry business experience. Experience should include assignments in multiple business and technical areas.
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and contribute to delivery of multiple IT projects/processes across business divisions
• Understanding of Customer Services operating procedures and standards.
Awareness of –
- Network infrastructure technologies
- Citrix / VMware / Microsoft technologies
- Cisco IP telephony
- EMC SAN technologies
- Experience working on major projects
- Strong Technical Documentation Skills

Academic Qualification:
Relevant Third Level qualification (e.g. Degree) in business studies or business information systems or equivalent, is desirable.
