My client is an IT Product company (Financial Software) based Dublin Southside. The successful candidate will join an IT Company and work with a small IT Support team but work with IT Developers and IT Sales product people. The role will involve supporting the internal team of users only and they are looking for an enthusiastic IT professional who wants to broaden his/ her skillset. This role offers the right candidate an excellent opportunity to broaden their technical skills and make an active contribution in a multinational company.
Install, support and maintain new server hardware and server infrastructure
Work with the Development team to setup and maintain the build environment
Provide the world-class support the company needs:
o Ensure the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers and suggest IT solutions to business and management problems
o Liaise with hardware/software vendors
o Work closely with other IT staff and engineers
o Ensure all IT equipment complies with industry standards
o Carry out routine security checks and undertake preventative measures to maintain network security
o Analyse and resolve faults from major system crashes to forgotten passwords
o Manage email, anti-spam and virus protection
o Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
o Monitor network usage
Skills required (wish list only and not all skills are required as there will be a learning curve)
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Windows OS, Exchange Server, SQL Server and TCP/IP
Sound technical knowledge of IT security, networking protocols, software and hardware devices, firewall and VPN configuration, remote access, backups, content filtering, malware and virus protection
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to correctly and assertively prioritise work, handle a range of different concurrent issues and handle user enquiries efficiently
Some experience of Linux/Unix systems, DB2, Oracle, Weblogic or Juniper firewalls would be a definite advantage, but not essential.

2-4 years experience although exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered

My client is looking for an energetic first line helpdesk engineer who is looking to fast track their career in IT. Responsibilities You will work as part of a helpdesk team and after a period of initial training your responsibilities will include:
Logging first line requests and incidents received via phone, email and in-person - into the Service Management system.
Ensure that the highest standards of Customer Focus are demonstrated at all times.
Ensuring that all clients both internal and external are dealt with in a friendly, efficient and timely manner.
Responsible for frontline Incident & Problem management ensuring that all incidents are resolved in a timely manner or escalated to appropriate engineer level support.
Responsible for contributing to project-based activity time-permitting.
Ensure that established procedures and controls are adhered to at all times. Also responsible for highlighting if / when procedures or controls have changed so that documentation can be updated. In short be well organised.

Demonstrate high levels of written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, ensuring that all interactions with customers, co-workers and management are done in a friendly and courteous manner.
Strong customer focus with the ability to record, resolve and/or escalate Service Related queries both within the customers and also directly with Vendors - and ensure that all customer related issues/queries are managed to resolution within agreed customer SLA timeframes.
Must have 1-2 years prior Network Support and helpdesk experience, with 1 years experience in On-Site Server Installations and Trouble-Shooting of Networking Issues
Education & Qualifications:
3rd Level Diploma/Degree.
MCP, MCSA or MSCE in Microsoft technologies or equivalent.
