My Dublin City Centre based client are currently recruiting for a Systems Administrator to join their existing team. This is a permanent role with an excellent Financial Services client.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Be responsible for managing the full cycle EDI processing for the company, including both inbound and outbound messages across multiple systems.
Work within a high-calibre, professional environment, and be required to examine and fix any errors from the XML messages and rating differences within the rating engine.
Administer and support test and development environments and monitor the system infrastructure on a daily basis.
Assist in the development, running and verification of the month end process
Assistance on various IT related projects
Contribute to systems development and new technology projects
Other Roles / Tasks required:
Candidates will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Proficiency dealing with Microsoft XP operating systems, and windows server 2008 as well as active directory and a .net based back office system environment is needed.
Candidate must be able to integrate well and work as part of a team. Good phone manner and personal skills as the majority of the work involves dealing with users of an office environment so desk-side support is required.
Candidate will be reporting to and assisting the I.T. Manager, on all day to day maintenance of the office network. First point of call on help desk. Documentation of processes and MIS reporting are also part of daily tasks.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Look after disaster recovery and business continuity for the company.
Knowledge / Skills:
Good strong knowledge of Insurance
Bachelors degree in IT qualification
Good proven troubleshooting skills
Minimum of 3 years experience working in an office environment supporting and maintaining an office network with PC, printer, and server experience.
Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree

Strong customer focus with the ability to record, resolve and/or escalate Service Related queries both within the customers and also directly with Vendors - and ensure that all customer related issues/queries are managed to resolution within agreed customer SLA timeframes.
Must have 1-2 years prior Network Support and helpdesk experience, with 1 years experience in On-Site Server Installations and Trouble-Shooting of Networking Issues
Education & Qualifications:
3rd Level Diploma/Degree.
MCP, MCSA or MSCE in Microsoft technologies or equivalent.

Ensure that all server-based data is backed up on a daily basis and that the data on all servers is appropriately protected via anti-virus software, including up-to-date virus definitions files
Provide LAN/WAN troubleshooting and fault resolution services across all EMEA offices in order to minimise business disruption through downtime of LAN/WAN services.
Carry out all active directory administration tasks required to ensure the security and availability of networks.
Provide 3rd line support to the EMEA regions including support/administration of VOIP & Video infrastructure.
The role is technical, however the LAN/WAN infrastructure team will have an influence on many levels as they will be looked upon as subject experts who can provide advice, recommendations and, where necessary, have the authority to insist upon certain technical solutions. The primary duties for this position include (but are not limited to):-
Provision of technical support for build, configuration, release and administration of the Production, Pseudo-Live & UAT environments, including configuration of our end-to-end Integration Test rigs.
Oversee installation of application patches and upgrades on our UAT, Pseudo-Live & Production environments in accordance with the Software Development Lifecycle.
Use of fundamental technical troubleshooting skills obtained through performance of the role to define, isolate and resolve technical issues.
Document application problem information, recommendations, and resolution in a clear and concise manner. Provide technical issue escalation using appropriate methodology.
Adherence to the IT Change/Release procedures to ensure availability, security & reliability of the Production environment.

Detailed knowledge of SQL and database structures. Ideally have experience in working in a SQL Database Support role. Database Administration and scripting experience would be an advantage.
Nice to have experience of Microsoft Sharepoint Administration or a detailed knowledge of this.
Knowledge / experience of supporting business applications operating on WebSphere, UNIX & IIS platforms.
An excellent customer service attitude and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner are required.
Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and use judgment in providing technical assistance.
ITIL certification would be an advantage.
