Description: JAVA DEVELOPER

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the design, development, enhancement, triage, and debugging of J2E & Java applications.
• Ensure that all key technical requirements are identified, estimated, designed, documented, implemented and integration tested.
• Produce detailed technical specifications based on business requirements documents.
• Build high quality designs & solutions using your expertise in Java and JEE and in accordance with AWC development standards.
• Ensure that consistent design patterns, methodologies and design documentation are maintained across all of your development projects.
• Perform (and support) technical & design reviews of your own and other AWC IT projects.
• Unit test all your code prior to release to ensure quality solutions are delivered. Provide additional support on delivered code when necessary.
• Work closely with the Business Analysts, Testing and Support teams to ensure all technical requirements for new projects are captured, designed and developed according to those requirements.
• Ensure urgent customer issues are resolved through triaging, troubleshooting and quickly applying solutions to any identified problems.
• Work on collaborative cross technology and cross division projects where Java applications interact with a range of business logic interfaces & systems.

Experience Required
• At least 6-8 years of experience developing core Java and Web based (B2B and/or B2C) applications.
• Experience of developing J2E applications which integrate to a relational database backend (Oracle).
• Working knowledge of relational databases and a good understanding of object relationship frameworks like Hibernate.
• Experience of delivering projects using XML and Web Service (REST) design.
• Experience of developing applications using Spring. (Portlets - highly desirable).
• Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) along with configuration and continuous integration tools like SVN, GIT, Maven and Hudson.
• Technical development experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) tools or document generation & management systems highly desirable.
• Mobile App development experience an advantage.
• Degree or equivalent in software development.
• Fluent English language skills.

• Proven experience in SQL Server Integration Services (development and deployment), SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services.
• SQL Server database performance tuning and optimization.
• Extensive experience in programming applications using T-SQL and XML.
• Experience in SQL Server database security.
• Experience in ETL techniques and developing data warehouses.
• Educated to degree level in an IT related discipline, a degree in another discipline or diploma in an IT with relevant IT experience.

Responsibilities:

 Provide 2nd line support to the business. Weekend Support is required and is scheduled on a rotational basis.
 Provide mission critical response to daily issues through in-depth investigation and problem solving techniques.
 Issue management, liaising with the required development and 3rd level support teams globally.
 Effectively communicate and escalate issues between the business and team members in order to ensure proper handling of issues is provided.
 Incorporate personal knowledge in the development of support tools and efficiencies that will be used by the team for daily or specific events.
 Liaison between development and business teams to improve the quality of the system and its applications.
 Ensure that my client’s applications are available and supported in line with the defined system service level agreement.
 Execute and escalate problem management procedure as necessary.
 Record and document accurately and in a timely manner support activities, which should include support tasks and outages. This information will be used to assist in identifying areas for investing in improvement initiatives.
 Provide in depth analysis of queries raised by the business, ranging from disbursement issues through to detailed analysis of reporting issues.
 Identify reoccurring issues and resolve accordingly.
 Support stability initiatives and work to achieve corporate and Global Production Support goals.

Knowledge/Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of Application Support/Development experience, of which a minimum of 3-4 years are in Support

Skills:
• UNIX - commands and Shell/Perl scripting knowledge (Essential)
• Oracle database and MS SQL Server knowledge including SQL, PL/SQL (Essential)
• WebLogic (Essential)
• IBM MQ Series (Essential)
• Ability to look at and understand XML file formats (Essential)
• .Net (Desirable)

Qualifications:
• Degree level in an IT oriented subject is advantageous.

The Analyst is responsible for working with business, technology and operational partners to ensure that new requirements are fully understood and documented, that technical design is fit for purpose and issues arising are analysed and addressed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• The ability to work in a high pressured environment with multiple concurrent programs while meeting delivery timelines with a high degree of client satisfaction and quality is essential.
• Analysing business requirements - working with stakeholders to analyse the information provided and ensure requirements are fully understood
• Analysing existing processes across a number of applications and interfaces – thinking end to end
• Working with peers to ensure that the team tasks are balanced against changing business and technical priorities
• Create clear and transparent solutions, avoiding customised logic in favour of generic functions
• Co-ordinate and review front to back impact analysis to ensure all risks are mitigated.
• Support testing cycles
• Support and ensure handover of new/modified processes to the Operational teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner and all issues and risks are communicated to the program as appropriate.
• Ensure design and control standards are adhered to and managing any open design issues to resolution.
Knowledge:
• An in-depth knowledge and professional experience of Calypso Technologies Inc. derivatives valuation and trade processing software.
• First rate understanding and professional experience of cross asset class derivative valuation models covering interest rate, FX, equity and credit derivative products.
• Working knowledge and experience of downstream accounting systems such as Advent Geneva or Multifonds is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of and experience of the business flows related to Clearing, Collateral, Settlement functions
• Professional experience in derivatives valuation using independent OTC valuation providers such as Markit and SuperDerivatives.
• Sound Middle and Back Office derivatives processing experience, to include client Order Management Systems, Middle Office Monitoring systems, Settlements, Custodian Funding, and Collateral Management.
• Sound business analysis skills.
• Valuing Diversity: Demonstrates an appreciation of a diverse workforce. Appreciates differences in style or perspective and uses differences to add value to decisions or actions and organisational success.
Skills:
• Minimum 4-7 years professional experience in the valuation of derivatives using Calypso 11 or higher.
• Should have understanding for APIs required to extend or add data to the Calypso system, and to build interfaces between Calypso and external systems (data uploader framework)
• Expertise in developing technology in support of pricing models and market data feeds which require on-going evaluation based on market fluctuations.
• Experience designing / building front-to-back trade capture and work flow processing systems will be especially valuable.
• Experience of working with XML, FpML is required.
• Experience of working with reporting framework and task scheduling.
• Solid working knowledge of and exposure to the Calypso admin tool and various Calypso engine logs.
• Demonstrable experience of configuration management
Qualifications:
• Higher Level / Professional Qualification
• Very high degree of numerical and analytical ability
• Bachelor’s degree (in science, computers, information technology or engineering)
