Description: My Dublin based client is currently looking for an experienced Senior Mobile Developer to join their expanding team in a permanent role.
Senior Mobile Developer

The Senior Mobile Developer is a key role within our technology division. It is a hands-on development role in a team focused on the design and implementation of customer mobility solutions. The senior mobile developer will lead by example, and will provide guidance, validation and expertise to the development team.

Duties within this role will include:
• Identifying and proposing specific strategies, initiatives, and architectures necessary to convert business requirements into an architecture blueprint for mobile applications on multiple platforms
• Developing mobile apps and providing high-level analysis, specification, app design, testing and deployment
• Working as part of the development team to define web APIs accessed by mobile applications
• Conducting code reviews and safe guarding best practices for mobile app development
• Engaging with multiple areas of the business and working with customers, account managers and support
• Designing and developing internal tools to streamline the Agile development process
• Actively monitoring and delivering insights on the mobility landscape, emerging trends, innovations and competitor activity and applying this knowledge to improve existing services

The ideal candidate will have:
• A third level qualification in information technology
• Strong experience and confidence in commercial software development with a passion for iOS and Android development
• Some Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 (ideal but not essential)
• Experience in cross-platform mobile development
• Web services, WCF, JSON, XML
• Cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
• Thorough understanding of software development principles and best practices and how these apply to mobile application development

Description: My Dublin based client is currently looking for an experienced back end test engineer to join their expanding team in a permanent role.
Senior Back End Test Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Hands on functional testing of core product function against requirements throughout the entire project life cycle
• Delivery of test schedules, test estimates, test cases and test data for assigned projects
• Responsibility for test execution and reporting to QA and Project Managers
• Bug management, incorporating triage meetings, status reporting, bug categorisation/prioritisation and issue escalation
• Assist in reporting, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with support and development
• Provide support for production environment release validation and production bug troubleshooting
• Integration of product knowledge from testers, developers and product managers into the testing process
• Continuously contribute to improvement of the Company’s quality processes and procedures
The Successful Candidate:
• Must have a proven track record in all facets of testing within a technically challenging development environment
• Must be a self starter with the ability to learn and understand complex systems quickly
• Will need to be a good team player and have the ability to work autonomously with a minimum of supervision
• Must have experience in industry standard testing, tracing and debugging tools

Key Requirements:
• Degree qualified with a minimum of 4/5 years’ experience in quality assurance, ideally in a financial / high numeracy sector
• Candidate must have
o Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing complex test projects from initialisation through to release
o Minimum of 4 years’ hands on experience across on online and mobile based testing roll using industry standard traffic debugging and tracing tools.
• Must have experience of software development lifecycles and sound knowledge of QA principles and methodologies
• Demonstrated experience in isolating and reproducing issues at a component level with clear documentation to support findings
• Experience in bug management, including triage meetings, bug categorisation and prioritisation, issue escalation and status reporting
• Prior experience in using issue tracking tools (Mantis, Jira etc)
• Experience of UAT testing in conjunction with third party test and project teams
• Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, XML, XHTML, ASP.NET, JavaScript, IIS with basic SQL scripting a benefit.
• The candidate must have strong numeracy and analytical skills for effective problem solving
• Confidence in holding test documentation reviews with project teams and obtaining sign off
• Proven ability to understand business system at architectural\component level and liaise with development teams
• Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to grasp issues quickly and make educated, critical judgement
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is a key requirement
• Experience in testing websites and applications across multiple browser/mobile device platforms would be a distinct advantage

Responsibilities
• Design and build advanced applications for the iOS platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Skills
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• A deep familiarity with Objective-C and Cocoa Touch
• Familiarity with distribution tools such as TestFlight and HockeyApp
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Working experience in Enterprise level iOS development
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services

Key Skills:
• Comfortable building system in IaaS environments like AWS
• Working knowledge of core modern code language and ability to select the most appropriate tools to create an optimal system
• Proficient in Matlab and conversion of Matlab algorithms to cloud-deployed processing kernels
• Experience using MapReduce system and / or equivalents
• Experience bench-marking and load testing high throughput cloud-based systems
• Ability to identify system saturation points and implement robust load-balancing / new instance redundancies
• Ability to create a comprehensive data-logging system covering all operational areas as part of debugging process


Experience:
• 4 – 8 years development experience
• Demonstrated ability to grow and lead a team of engineers in a fast paced startup environment
• Proven ability to build world class products using Agile, Scrum, Kanban or similar development/management practices
• Deep understanding of the user experience essential to delivering successful and intuitive web, iOS and Android applications
• Hands-on experience developing robust back-end services used by multiple client platforms
• Ability to architect and have a hand in the design and code review processes for consumer-facing applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and listening skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies.
• Preferably has experience with vision-based systems

Requirements:

• A dynamic working environment composed of in-house remote support and on-site support with our customer base, so own transport is essential
• Provide a point of contact for customers who need to log support incidents via phone or email
• Logging of all incidents accurately, ensuring all relevant information is obtained and recorded on incident logging software
• Provide problem diagnosis, using appropriate support tools for hardware, software & in-house applications
• Escalate more complex or critical issues to appropriate senior staff
• Ensuring that all cases owned by the Service Desk are resolved in accordance with the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA)
• Deliver outstanding customer service standards by answering all calls promptly, remaining courteous and professional at all times
• Ensure processes, procedures and resolutions are documented and updated regularly on the Service Desk knowledge base
• Develop and maintain a complete understanding of the clients products and on-going releases
• Any other duties deemed required as part of the day to day role
• May be required to take part in on call rota

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 – 4 years’ experience of working in a Service Desk for MSP or busy support environment
• Third Level qualification in field of IT
• Excellent working knowledge of Desktop Operating Systems (Win XP and Win 7,8)
• Working knowledge of Mac OS X for desktop and server and mainstream packages including Adobe CS Suite, Quark and font management solutions
• Administrative Knowledge of Server Support – 2003, 2008 and 2012
• Microsoft Active Directory administration skills
• Microsoft Exchange knowledge an advantage
• Firewall, routing and switching experience an advantage
• Good backup Software Support knowledge
• Strong Interpersonal skills with ability to support and communicate with users on all levels
• Sound troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Self-starter who uses own initiative
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
• Must hold a driving licence and own transport
